Confused about temperatures…..?
Ok so this question is for a adult temperature.
I have heard for a Rectal thermometer reading you take away a degree? So a temperature of 37.3 would be, 36.3 degrees….
And, I have heard that for an Underarm thermometer reading, you add a degree? So a temperature of 36.5 would be, 37.5 degrees….
Is any of these true about adding/subtracting degrees?? And or any of these temperatures I just mentioned, a high temperature?

I got this info from on here, and also various websites. If you google this, you find some people this about adding/subtracting a degree…. its strange I know… so I was wondering if its really true? Because they say underarm isn’t a true reading becuse its cooler, and a rectal is warmer so you take away a degree…..
I have never heard that I ever before. Why would you add or subtract a degree. It doesn’t make sense and is just idiocy. A high temperature is anything over 37.0. This is what is meant to be core body temperature but bodies usually are 36.? not 37
