This is because blue eyes are a recessive trait, meaning that you need to have two blue alleles in order for the trait to be shown. Brown eyes are dominant, so if you had one blue and one brown allele, then you would have brown eyes. If you and your fiancee both have blue eyes, this means that you both are passing on only blue eye genes to your baby.
