How do I set the lock on a usb retractable flash drive?

I got a USB retractable flash drive with a combination lock on it as a gift so I have no idea where to search for directions on how to set the 3 locks. The only clue on who might make it was Maxtor but searched with no results

I also searched the Maxtor website and couldn’t find anything similar to what you’re describing. I’d suggest you contact customer support and describe the flash drive in as much detail as possible. Hopefully one of Maxtor’s customer service reps will be able to provide the info you need.

Your question didn’t make it clear if the combination lock is built-in to the flash drive or was included as a separate component. If separate, perhaps it wasn’t included as part of the flash drive but purchased separately by the gift-giver. In which case Maxtor might not be able to help.
