Maltese Dog…should we use a harness for the leash or just his collar???
I feel I have better control of the dog with a regular leash attached to his collar while my wife says that we should use a harness like a puppia one that won’t injure his thrachea….who’s right?
Toy dogs should always use a harness. In some breeds a collar is the main cause of proptosis. In all toy breeds there is the chance of tracheal collapse. They can wear a collar with their tags, but should walk on a harness.
I’m not considering the training tool issue just the health issues. A harness is safer.
